Values by Joyce Schafer

Today it seems like old furniture is cherished more than old relatives and pets are loved more than teenagers.
We need to get back to the values the bible teaches. In 1 Timothy 5:1-2 it reads "Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exalt him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity."
We need to get back to this value system. People are more important than things and all life is precious.

Today we are all busy but how much time does it take to pick up the phone and ask "How are you?" or drop a card in the mail, or Email a message, or say "I love you" to a family member.
In this "Throw away" society we live in, when an appliance quits working we get rid of it. Unfortunately people are becoming "throw away" too. These are the values of the world but as Christians we should strive to do better. With God's help we can do better and our actions and words should lead everyone to know that we are Christians, not only in church, but more importantly, in the world.
